Cyber-secure waterworks

The ‘Cybersecurity for Waterworks’ programme is a new initiative financed by EU funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Its aim is to strengthen the resilience of water and sewage companies to cyber threats and to ensure the security of IT and industrial systems responsible for water supply and sewage collection.

The programme is particularly important in the context of critical infrastructure protection and the implementation of the requirements of the NIS2 Directive on network and information security. Thanks to the programme, entities in the water supply sector can obtain support to improve their digital security, modernise their IT and OT systems, and introduce effective risk management and incident response procedures. 

As part of the program, we have established cooperation with several water supply companies that are implementing projects aimed at increasing the cybersecurity of local water supply systems. Under the agreements, in addition to preparing the application documentation, we will act as Project Engineer, responsible for comprehensive supervision of the implementation of the projects.

The tasks of our experts include, among others:

  • Analysis of technical needs in terms of the functionality of existing resources in the area of cybersecurity;
  • Preparation of application documentation;
  • Preparation of the technical part of tender documentation;
  • Conducting market research;
  • Preparing descriptions of the subject of the contract;
  • Participating in the selection of the appropriate technical solution;
  • Supervising the implementation of the project.

Supporting the water supply sector in the implementation of cybersecurity solutions is an important step towards increasing the resilience of municipal digital infrastructure and ensuring the continuity and security of key public services.

We invite local governments and public administration units interested in support in the preparation and implementation of projects financed by EU funds, including technical consulting, project management and the role of Project Engineer, to cooperate with us.
